Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (CML) is a type of a slowly progressing cancer that affects our blood cells and bone marrow. The disease begins with a change in the genes of the blood cells when parts of two different chromosomes switch places to form an abnormal one. This new chromosome results in the creation of abnormal white blood cells or leukaemia cells which then eventually enters our bloodstream.
